earlier today I was helping my mom set up the treadmill and getting it running right before I set to work on fursuit stuff....

Teasing Maverick (the, now adult, brown kitten I bottle raised) who had never seen the treadmill on went awry as I went to pick him up to put him on it (it was going a half mile an hour, super slow so it would not have hurt him) as he sat and looked at it he seemed curious not scared... I did not realize he was scared.

I barely touched him, did not even have my hands around him yet, just touched him and he freaked out into a ball of claws and kicked up with his back feet and clawed me deep on the palm and pinky of my left hand, it bled all over.

I am all cleaned, medicated and wrapped up now with a gauze pad and bandage wrap left over from my sister's leg injury...and done crying... well still kind of wanting to cry because of the pain and stupidity of it.

Hopefully this will be a minor setback, but the claw marks are decently deep (had them this deep multiple times before, just not on my hand, luckily I am not prone to infection) and one is right in the fortune teller crease, a fold and stretch area, and thus will take extra time to heal... he also took a decent amount of skin off either side of the scratches since these were his thicker duller back claws...

so yeah, ow... not using my hand much, and it may be my left and I am a righty but one does not realize how much they use their secondary hand until it hurts >_0

actually, that's not too bad of a reason for your hand to be clawed. the other day i pretty much skinned my knee/cut it open because i kept running into a tree repeatedly XD. i was not trying to harm myself, it was part of some game my friends came up with called "tree tag". Needless to say the tree that was base had very rough bark.
