The Saga of the Yellow Crayon

Remember how I posted a journal needing a yellow crayon?
Well now you can see why I needed it so bad!

And I somehow ended up with TWO and man is there a story behind this.



When I was trying to set up my rainbow back in November every store within 2 hours of me did not have one, and everywhere I went they were out of stock online, it got to a point where I feared they were discontinued.

So in a last ditch effort I shouted out online... so many folks tried to find one for me and I thank them for it <3

EccentricPaw paw found one for me and we decided to mail it after Xmas since Xmas rush means things get lost/beat up easier, but then after Xmas they came back in stock online, we then decided I would look locally once again. One thing lead to another and the crayon mailing ended up at a point where the only way to get it to me on time was express delivery at a high price. So we ended up parting ways in favor of ordering one online, with many thanks still given to EccentricPaw for getting one.

A few days later, 2 days before FC, my crayon comes in the mail...

I open the box....

IT IS BLUE!!!

the receipt in the box says yellow... BLUE IS NOT YELLOW

I HAVE BLUE I NEED YELLOW

*insert panic here

I call all the stores within an hour of me, nothing.
I vent my frustration to some of my friends, PalominoPony instantly goes into action, without being asked (cause he is awesome that way) calling everyplace in the Bay area (where he lives).
I go to tell EccentricPaw what happened and asked if that express shipping was second day delivery because if yes there may be hope.
PalominoPony comes back with success, after failed phone calls to several stores a yellow had been found and put on hold for him in San Jose, the city FC is held in, he will get it for me when he arrives in San Jose.
I go back to EccentricPaw to tell them the news but I discover this message!

"Okay, it SAYS it will be to you Thursday and I am running to the post office right now. I'll go halfsies with you on it, no biggie<3"

I then get the following X3

"Hey! SOOO the crayon is mailed and the guy said it should be there tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure he read it wrong or something because I'm pretty sure I only paid to have it delivered Thursday, I'm not sure.
ANYWAYS, funny story!
I thought the post office closed at 5 (and it's 5:25 here, it was just after 4 when you messaged me) so I was freaking out, BOX UP THE CRAYON, GET DRESSED, I DON'T THINK WE CAN MAKE IT TO THE POST OFFICE IN TIME HNNNNG so we ran out the door and bolted to the post office. Then we were RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE POST OFFICE and it was 4:57 and I was like NOOOOOOO so I jumped out of the car and RAN. I ran and ran and ran and holy crap I am a teensy bit chubby and probably the furthest from an athlete xD
So I get inside and I was prepared to bang on doors and push people over and all this stuff, and I am huffing and barely breathing and I can't even speak, but I find out that they close at SIX.
So the crayon is on it's way, and I think I deserve a medal x3"

They do deserve a medal! XD

OH YEAH
I forgot something!

Something awful!

ALLLLLLL this fuss over getting the yellow crayon right?
So everything can be perfect right?!
I get to FC.... and realize I FORGOT THE YELLOW FEET!!!

Keeping track of 9 suits and their parts was a pain so I am surprised that is all I forgot (the feet were out of sight when we packed) So then I had to beg family to deliver them to the con via a 2 hour drive! This ended up working out for the best because a member of the rescue crew is a shutter bug with a nice camera so we got some great photos X3

Still HOLY CRAP SO MUCH FUSS yellow suit so much fuss X3 but I love you yellow suit, love you so much <3
