The title of hero bears no kindness from the grasp of nature, in nature's hands all fates are equal.
Link never did find his way to Snowpeak Ruins...He pushed his way forward through the blizzard, that is until the cold affected not only his body but also his mind. As the hero struggled to keep his numb body working, he blacked out ...Link hit the ground, unmoving atop a blanket of white.

This is a piece that can be as "dark" as you want it...For those of you who do not care for dark fanart so much you can see him as still alive, with help on the way...
As for me and how I see it...Welp, I killed Link....again I did try to challenge myself with this dark fanart piece, I wanted it to be different than my other less-than-happy pieces. I wanted no blood and for it to be something I could have as my screen saver without cringing if my mom walks by the computer. I also perhaps got some subliminal inspiration from the weather...it is so stinking hot outside that freezing to death does not sound so bad right now (kidding of course) I wanted something that was both dark fanart and yet also, I dunno, peaceful?...Whatever I was going for I think I captured it.

Drawn by mouse (I lack a tablet) over basic line art I did via pencil and paper. Corel painter X, chalk, smear, and some tool that sprays dots for the background (I hand placed the snowflakes) I tried to make use of negative space to create a "lost in the midde of nowhere" feel.
I love dark fanart... I'm viewing a ton of yours at the moment and all of it is awesome! I myself have just started a fanfic where I killed Link in the prologue
That is beautiful, even if it's sad. It's true that in the legends, the life and fate of a hero is not always kind, nor is it often that they die of old age (or even peacefully...)
thats flawless work, both in technique and in content. And a wonderfully written description to go along... this is A+ I was getting the same mixed reactions on my [link] Dies Young piece... non fans of the dark stuff see him fighting to survive, alive and pulling through.. while fans of the dark stuff saw a dead or dying boy. Thats whats so wonderful about art.
