Owl Fursuit by LilleahWest Owl Fursuit by LilleahWest
VIDEO [link]

The wings work with a halfsuit too, and because of how I build heads and since this is a low profile face with no jaw you can "pop the top" (see end of video) hidden slits in the wings allow your hands to come out, you have a little bit of dexterity with the feathers.

This is the first set of arm wings I ever made, they were a royal pain the ass to make XD

This is so fantastic the wings are beautifully crafted I was considering making some similiar to the style with the feathers, as arms, (for a kangaroo, parrot, porcupine hybrid of mine) if you don't mind, how did you make them? (Reinforced with foam, etc.?)

this is my favorite fursuit in the entire universe!! I've seen it all over google images, and now I found it here!

god, this inspires me so much ^_^ I am considering making my first fursuit, and I wasn't too sure if feather fingers would be possible... but according to this it's possible! looks like a pain... but still possible!

thank you for giving bird anthros some justice :)

The only /vaguely/ looks like a barn owl. :I I mean yeah, you give a bit of leeway because it's 'toony', but I'm really unimpressed with this.

and what is the point of this comment other than to make me feel crummy?
Barn owls have a white heart shaped face with a narrow beak that hardly shows, nail that and you have barn own vs any other owl. Yeah barn owls have big black eyes which is a feature that distinguishes them from other owls but on a toony suit solid black looks creepy....speaking of which, barn owls are just kinda creepy looking, so making it look cute vs creepy was a challenge in of itself.

The feet are really wrong, the markings are off- which might be a commissioners issue(though I've looked up the commissioners ref and it didn't seem like it.), but I'm just comparing to other stuff you've made in the past, and this feels not quite to standard. If it makes you feel crummy then so be it- but if all you want is butt pats all day for making an unusual animal suit then why even post it on a place like deviantart.

It is still a comment I wish you had kept to yourself... I sometimes think the same but I never leave critique because as a maker I know how much a negative comment on a finished suit stings.

I have been feeling really down lately...This is my first full bird so I put a lot of heart into it, the wings proved to be harder to make than planned, and the feather fur cost twice as much as normal and the fur was extra work since it had an odd smell from the dye upon arrival and I had to wash it...This owl overall took more work and dedication than many other suits and with that placed on top of my current depressive attitude, yeah, I was hoping for some butt pats...I really need something to pick me up out of my depressive mood...and a critique comment on 2 weeks of hard work did the opposite T_T

PS If I sound like an ass it's because it's after 4am and my medication-induced insomnia is keeping me from sleeping <_<; and I am sure that my insomnia is not helping me handle critique at all...I dunno why I am letting my feathers get so ruffled over this...or commenting back like this...UGH why could you not have left critique when I was more emotionally stable DX

But that's why I decided to say it- the majority of the page is in fact people fascinated with an unusual suit. And I will have that the /structure/ of this is fantastic, the wings are very well made and the head is shaped well. It's just an easy google search could have told you that 90% of a barn owls body is in fact, white, unless you've got a reference to back your colour choice out. Maybe it could've saved you some money on coloured fur, even. And while I guess no one else knows owls actually have a two toe-back two toe-front foot, so I could give you that. I'm sorry that you are depressed, and I know the whims of insomnia are terrible, but it's not right to leave something unsaid when you know, next time you might do a project like this (cause I'm /not/ expecting you to go back and fix it), that you'll remember the time some mean person on the internet said something and make sure that mean people on the internet can't say mean things again.

PS I am glad to see you backing up your first comment in a way that proves you were not just "trolling" me... but, still, I now know how Latin Vixen/Mixed Candy felt now when she posted a journal on FA about not critiquing her finished pieces...

See now, I asked the customer about the feet before I made them, they wanted just 3 toes in the front, and they liked the feather fur and thus did not mind being too brown .__. they never even cared about being more brown and even if they did they likely would have gone ahead with it anyway since they wanted the suit by the end of July and white fur had been in short supply since Xmas. So......in a world of toony suits full of 3 vs 4 toes, natural colored animals with eye colors not found in nature, horses with round pupils, rabbits with cat noses and paw pads, and rainbow colored fur, this is owl not that "off"... and the customer approved of what is not true to the species/ref sheet as it was being made...
