Mom Jr a VERY lucky kitten

the kitten used to be known as Mom Jr aka Mj now here name is Erma cause its cuter for adoption.
she is one of 8 kittens this cat had and this kitten looks just like her right down to the white paws.

Erma is a kitten i am fostering for a rescue group

and she is VERY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE

one morning i saw a red mass coming from her "button hole" as we call it. turns out it was a prolapsed rectum meaning she strained so hard to poo her rectum turned inside out and popped out!!!
we took her to the vet the rescue group uses and they wanted $700 to fix it and said it may still come back out, the rescue refused to cover it and we cannot afford that much so euthanasia was discussed, i cried.
i went out to the car and cried. at the last minute we decided we could not put this bright happy alert little kitten, who was playing and happy and totally oblivious to the fact her insides were on the outside, to death.

so i tried to get a hold of a woman i knew who worked with another rescue, she works at the college i go to and had helped me fund spaying the feral cats that lived on the campus, i went to the main office and found out if she had a class going, she did have a class that day and right that minute and it was ending soon! so i ran over there and waited outside the door for the class to end, and she told me what vet to try.
the vet she sent us too charged $75 for the operation and that included the vet visit and the medication and a follow up visit (the other place charged us $100 just to look at her!!!)

so now her insides are back in, she survived the operation and she's a happy playful little baby again!

why one vet charges 10 times more for the same operation is beyond me!!! sounds live greed to me.

still i am so happy she's alive
