done with markers, white out and colored pencils...ugg...this is one of those drawings where i spent ALOT of time on but i am not so sure i "love" it yet. i guess i'll tweak it digitally a bit.....
the image here is link from the legend of zelda, he has been majorly wounded by some clawed creature that lashed out at him after he blinded it and it has literally ripped his back open. in emmense pain and unable to fight he calls for epona in a desperate attempt to flee. epona is attacked by the blind montser in the process of getting to link and her saddle is ripped from her back but link manages to get to her and he holds on as tight as he can which is hard as parts of his body is going numb from the blood loss. epona is his only chance to survive and he is depending on her to get him to safty. designs based off of twilight princess, frankly epona sucks in TP compared to the epona in OoT, so i tried to make her less-suck in this image as she never does anything spectacular in the game (at least the other epona had blue eyes and could jump hella far, and had more mini-games to do with her, even is she was a dumbass about going through water...) the face mark is not accurate as i never bothered to memorize her face mark in TP as i don't like it (looks like a stupid spider) i dunno i wish they did more with epona and had some more horses in the game! the only other one is the gray onw that pulls the cart and you only see it like twice.... |

i mean in OoT she had blue eyes
was a prettier color (chestnut red with the black markings and white fur, so pretty)
could jump un-realistically far/high
only you could ride her as she had a free and wild spirit and you befriended her as a filly
and the guy at the ranch said after you won her how he was going to present her as a offering to gannon which showe that she was a prized war horse
in TP she is very plain looking
can't jump like OoT epona
no one ever acknowleges her as anything more than a work horse
her muzzle and face mark bugs me
and lastly as a wolf when you talk to her she only repeats the same gerd dang thing! gezz, Nintendo could have had more fun with what she has to say!
