Hunter and Hunted by LilleahWest Hunter and Hunted by LilleahWest
this guy...blew up.
he is ceramic and there was an air bubble in torso and he FRIGGEN BLEW UP

the torso was in teeny tiny pieces, the rest of him was broken but repairable

23 pieces people ...glued back together...then painted

i managed to find every "important" piece except the hoof of his one finger
the rest i managed to pick out of the remains, 2 fingers i found stuck in the metal heating coils on the side of the kiln to give you an idea of how blown up he was.
its a fricken miracle the head was not broken aside from one ear.

new body made of foam
and LOADS of detail in his outfit!!!!!!

Very nice! He looks huggable. Sorry about the explosion, but it looks like you recovered very nicely. :-)

What a wonderful piece of work!

Considering the explosion, what a fantastic salvage and reconstruct job!

Thats a shame he exploded. You did a great repair job and he looks awesome. I have lost stuff due to bubbles aswell...not a happy day.

he looks amazing! it's hard to believe he was a victim of a kiln explosion. good job going with it and making it beautiful again!

it was very hard
i mean looking at a bowl full of ceramic shards of what used to be your piece is, well, tear-worthy

understandable. in my high school ceramics class, some jerkwad purposely built a kiln bomb (i.e. a poolball-sized clay sphere with a hollow center) and stuck it directly onto a gargoyle i painstaking sculpted. it was totally destroyed and every piece inside the kiln was ruined by spattered clay.

somehow i convinced the guy that if he gave me $100, i wouldn't tell on him. doesn't matter, 'cause other people told the teacher and the kid got suspended for a week.

i still miss my gargoyle, though. :C
